Zoo Club

Bannerughatta Biological Park (BBP) is hosting Zoo Club to inspire young minds to connect with nature, wildlife and work towards conservation of wildlife and nature. This will be a 15 week program, conducted on Sundays. The sessions will be conducted from 10 am to 1 pm, with a maximum of 60 students intake and includes theory classes and field visits.

Topics covered include captive management, in situ and ex situ conservation, animal care, behavior and welfare. It also includes provides members an opportunity to interact with experts in the field and to explore careers in nature and wildlife conservation. Interested candidates can enroll through the application from the below link and a confirmation email along with further details including documents required to complete registration and payment of zoo club fee will be shared. registration form will close once 60 students enroll.

Internships

Bannerughatta Biological Park is conducting internship programme for students from veterinary, life science as well as other fields to provide an opportunity to gain hands on experience through work based learning. The students get an insight about the functioning and significance of the park towards ex-situ conservation along with activities and projects during the internship through which they can contribute their skills to enhance the organisation’s mission. Through this experiential learning students can gain skills required for their future employment.

Wildlife Awareness Programme

Bannerughatta Biological Park is conducting "Wildlife Awareness & Education Programs" for school students to promote environmental awareness among the school students.

IFS and other Forest Department Probationers Training

The probationers of Indian Forest Service and Range Forest Officer visit the park as part of their training schedule. Through inhouse resource persons, they are provided an insight about the park, management, species housed as well as conservation issues.

Signage Boards

Education is a vital role in the Zoo’s mission hence various signage and information boards are placed in relevant locations to enhance visitors experience by providing an insight about the various species housed in the park as well as about the ecological significance of BBP. Additionally tariff, direction and signages are regularly updated to enhance planning and provide ease of visitor movement around the park. Rules and regulations of the park have also been displayed to ensure animal welfare and cleanliness of the premises is not compromised by disorderly behaviour of visitors.

Museum displays various animal trophies, skeletons, photographs, fossils having high educational value to create awareness among the visitors.
