On the occasion of "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav", 75th Independence Day was celebrated at Bannerghatta Biological Park. During the celebration rewards were given to thirteen staff for their exemplary work towards ex-situ conservation of wildlife especially during COVID period.
Staff involved in hygiene of the park, recovered from COVID, wildlife rescue operations and animal management operations were rewarded.
Further seven staff children who excelled in academics were rewarded by Sri. R.M.N Sahai (Retd. PCCF).
"World Lion Day" was also celebrated today to create awareness about these majestic creatures, interesting facts and the need to conserve flag ship species.
Citizens also contributed towards olfactory enrichment for Lions through Mrugalayakke Shramadhana (ಮೃಗಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಶ್ರಮದಾನ: Donation of Services at Zoo) where wildlife enthusiasts donated their services by harvesting fodder, which was handed over to the animal keeper.
